May Designs

Hello!  I've been gone for quite awhile.  I've had several issues that came up and were out of my control.  I wasn't able to design, create, blog or anything.  Now I am back and able to do my work!  So here's what I've been working on lately:

What I've Done This Morning

Bored

I was bored tonight so I made this one for my blog and the one beneath just for fun.

It's 10:30pm and I should be reading.  But I'm not.  I'm designing.

Finally!

It has been so long since my PSP has been working right.  Lately I haven't been able to use it at all because it won't even open.  Well, it opens, but then freezes and I have to shut it down myself.  I worked and worked on the PC last night to get it to work and I had to uninstall it then re-install it.  Then it worked!  Today I have spent a good part of my day on there designing.  And it's been nice!

Here's a few things that I came up with today:
This banner is for my personal blog.  I have it linked if you'd like to check it out.

I made a button for a blog that I do with a few other friends that homeschool.  This one is also linked.

I wanted to make myself a cute little banner with our cats on it.  My husband and I were talking earlier today and all of our cats that we have are fairly new.  We've had Feisty the longest and she's only been here since January.

Hopefully now that I have PSP up and running again, I will be able to make time for myself to design some more.  I really do enjoy it.  I don't really miss the hassle of designing for groups like I did on CafeMom.com, but I wish that I had more excuses to design more often.

Oh.  I am also going to try and come up with a new name other than tags.  Maybe like, personal graphics or personal designs.  Something like that.

Homeschool Mom to the 2nd Power!

This morning I decided to make a couple new tags.  It can take hours to make these, so for the last 3 hours I've made 2.  lol  But that's ok.  I want them to be just right.
I started with one for Spring.

Then I decided to make one for homeschooling.

I am hoping to be able to make a couple more tonight!

Easter Time!

For Spring and Easter I made a couple new tags yesterday.  I really enjoy this and have missed it.  I made a Spring tag for my friend and an Easter one for myself.  I am thinking that I will make time today to make some more.

I would also like to show you that I can create pictures for other things also!  I can do photo collages, posters, desktop wallpapers, avatars and many other things.  This is a cookbook cover that I just finished yesterday for our church:

 Hopefully later today I will be able to post a few more that I have made!

Why I Create

A few years ago I stumbled upon a website called CafeMom.com.  I joined and really like the site.  After a while I found the tags, siggies, or whatever you want to call them.  I call them tags.  (Maybe I should come up with my own name for them?!)  I started to collect them because I have always collected things with my name on them.  Then I wanted to learn how to make them myself.  I taught myself quite a bit, asked questions for things I didn't know and researched a little.  I started out using free programs like imikimi.com and paint.net.  I really wanted my own program to use that had more options though.  I tried Adobe Photo Shop and it was ok, but I didn't care for it that much.  Then I bought Paint Shop Pro and I love it.

I started out creating mostly to make my own ideas for myself.  Then I started to think about what a great way it would be to spread The Word of Jesus and His love.  A lot of my tags were Christian themed.  I joined groups and was designing for 6 different groups at one time.  That was too much tho, I soon slimmed it down.  Now I design for 2 groups but am thinking about closing my CafeMom account and just designing for myself and friends on here and facebook.

Creating is also something relaxing that I can do.  I love to create for my friends.  It makes me smile when they use my creations.  

Here are a few of my favorites that I have made for myself.  I have MANY more that I like but it would take me forever to post them here.  I will have to set up a slide show or two.
